How it works in the shop

The process from your customers' point of view

  1. Button in the customer accountClearly visible with the order
  2. Withdrawal in two clicksOrder and items pre-filled
  3. Immediate confirmationWith date and time
  4. Email to customer and shopAcknowledgement of receipt included

Important: we take care of the technical implementation. Legal texts such as the withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy of your PrestaShop shop are maintained by your legal adviser or your legal texts provider.

Status: obligation in force

Since 19 June 2026, every affected PrestaShop shop must offer the function technically.

System: PrestaShop

We check module status, theme, hooks, mail sending and order reference.

Price: €490 net

Fixed price for standard PrestaShop shops, no subscription and no hidden follow-up costs.

Special cases: €85/h net

Custom theme, multishop, checkout customisations or special logic charged by effort.

With PrestaShop, clean module and hook integration is what matters.

A simple link in the footer is technically too little. What matters is a process that is visible in the theme, processes customer data sensibly, triggers a confirmation and remains traceable in the shop.

What we set up technically

We build in the withdrawal function so that it is accessible to customers and can be processed cleanly internally.

  • “Withdraw from contract” button in the appropriate theme area
  • Withdrawal page with structured form
  • Order number, email address and customer data as reference
  • Confirmation step before final submission
  • Email confirmation to the customer
  • Internal notification to the shop operator
  • Logging of the process for technical traceability

What often goes wrong with PrestaShop

PrestaShop shops are often heavily customised. That's why we check in advance where the button really needs to be integrated stably.

  • Button is only shown in one language or only on desktop
  • Theme overrides module output after updates
  • Mail sending works in the test but not in the live shop
  • Guest orders cannot be assigned cleanly
  • Multishop or multilingual setups are handled incorrectly
  • There is no clear internal documentation of withdrawals

When should your PrestaShop be checked now?

If these points apply, we shouldn't wait. The technical check is done quickly and prevents hectic stopgaps later.

If these points apply: retrofit PrestaShop technically.

We check version, theme, hook positions, mail sending and order reference. Then we implement the withdrawal function as a clean module solution.

1. Sales to private customers

Your PrestaShop sells to consumers or to mixed B2B and B2C customer groups.

2. Online checkout

The contract is concluded directly via the cart, checkout or another online ordering process.

3. Right of withdrawal applies

A right of withdrawal applies to at least part of your range.

4. PrestaShop in use

The shop runs on PrestaShop, possibly with a custom theme, multishop or additional modules.

Technical implementation focused on module, theme and mail sending.

PrestaShop projects differ more than standard WooCommerce shops. That's why we first check the current state and then implement a maintainable solution.

Module integration

We integrate the withdrawal function as a PrestaShop-native solution and avoid loose theme tinkering.

Check theme hook

We check where the button can be integrated in the shop in a visible, logical and update-proof way.

Guest orders

Withdrawal must also be possible without a customer account if customers ordered as guests.

Mail templates

We set up the confirmation and internal notification so that the process remains technically traceable.

Logging

Withdrawals are documented internally with a timestamp and details of the process.

Live test

We test desktop, mobile, form, email delivery and internal processing.

How the PrestaShop implementation works.

We deliberately take a technical approach: check first, then build in, then test and document.

Shop and version check

We check the PrestaShop version, theme, multishop status, languages, checkout and existing modules.

  • Theme
  • Modules

Installing the withdrawal function

We build the button, withdrawal page, form and confirmation step directly into your PrestaShop.

  • Form
  • Flow

Mail and internal processing

Customer confirmation and internal notification run via the PrestaShop mail templates.

  • Mail
  • Template
  • Delivery

Order reference and log

Every withdrawal remains traceable in the shop with order number, email and timestamp.

  • Order number
  • Log
  • Proof

Final test and handover

We test the function on desktop and mobile and provide a short technical handover.

PrestaShop withdrawal button from €490 net.

For standard PrestaShop shops, we implement the technical withdrawal function at a fixed price. For custom themes, multishop or special logic, we calculate transparently in advance.

  • Complete package standard PrestaShop
  • €490 net
  • One-off at a fixed price · payment after implementation · incl. technical function test
  • Short technical PrestaShop check
  • Module- or hook-based integration
  • “Withdraw from contract” button in a sensible place
  • Withdrawal form with confirmation step
  • Email confirmation to the customer
  • Internal notification and logging
  • Desktop/mobile test and short handover

When is it not a standard case?

For heavily customised PrestaShop systems, we charge fairly by effort. Our hourly rate is €85 net.

  • Multishop installations
  • Multilingual shops with custom translations
  • Heavily customised theme or checkout
  • External ERP/CRM connection
  • Special logic for dealers, B2B or marketplaces

Clear decision: we don't start blind. If your PrestaShop is not a standard case, we state the effort clearly in advance and implement nothing without approval.

Why PrestaShop shops shouldn't rely on a stopgap.

PrestaShop is stable, but many shops have grown over the years. That's exactly why the withdrawal button shouldn't simply be copied somewhere into the theme.

❌ Quick stopgap

  • Button only as a normal footer link
  • No clear confirmation of the withdrawal
  • Mail sending not properly tested
  • Guest orders not taken into account
  • Theme update overwrites customisations
  • No internal traceability

✓ Clean technical implementation

  • Button visible and logically placed
  • Structured withdrawal flow
  • Customer confirmation and internal notification
  • Logging with technical proof
  • PrestaShop-native integration instead of a theme hack
  • Short handover after a successful test

The most important questions, answered briefly.

The answers are deliberately technical. Please clarify individual legal questions about your PrestaShop with your legal adviser or your legal texts provider.

All questions and answers
Does this also affect PrestaShop shops with normal products?

Yes, if goods are sold online to consumers and a right of withdrawal applies to the products. What matters is not the shop system, but the way the contract is concluded and the customer group.

Is a link to the withdrawal policy enough?

No. The technical withdrawal function is more than a link to the withdrawal policy. It should enable an electronic declaration of withdrawal, confirm it and make it technically traceable.

What about guest orders?

Guest orders should be taken into account, because many PrestaShop customers order without a customer account. That's why we build in the order reference via order number and email address.

Does it work with several languages?

Multilingual shops are possible, but not a blanket standard case. We check the languages, translations and theme output in advance and calculate additional effort transparently.

Do we need access to the server?

As a rule we need back office access and, depending on the shop, additionally FTP/hosting access. For safe working, a prior backup makes sense.

Is the implementation legally reviewed?

The technical implementation follows the current state of the art. A review of the withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy is not included in the fixed price.

Are there ongoing costs?

No, you only pay for the technical implementation once. If later PrestaShop updates or theme changes require adjustments, we charge these separately by effort.
