Withdrawal button for TYPO3 shops: retrofit custom ordering processes cleanly.

TYPO3 is rarely an off-the-shelf standard shop. If consumers order or conclude contracts online via your TYPO3 website, the withdrawal function must be integrated cleanly into your extension, your form or your custom ordering process.

How it works in the shop

The process from your customers' point of view

  1. Button in the customer accountClearly visible with the order
  2. Withdrawal in two clicksOrder and items pre-filled
  3. Immediate confirmationWith date and time
  4. Email to customer and shopAcknowledgement of receipt included

Important: we take care of the technical implementation. The withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy of your TYPO3 website must be maintained by your legal adviser or your legal texts provider.

Status: obligation in force

Since 19 June 2026, the function must also be technically available on affected TYPO3 websites.

System: TYPO3

We check version, extension, template, routing, forms and mail sending.

Price: from €690 net

For simple TYPO3 ordering processes after a prior technical check.

Special cases: €85/h net

Custom extensions, multisite, multilingual setups or API connections charged by effort.

With TYPO3, it's not about a standard module, but about clean integration into your ordering logic.

Many TYPO3 websites use their own extensions, forms, product logic or external systems. That's why the withdrawal function has to be built in where the contract is actually concluded online.

What we set up technically

We integrate the withdrawal function so that customers can find it easily and it is processed cleanly internally.

  • “Withdraw from contract” button in a suitable place in the frontend
  • Own withdrawal page or route within the TYPO3 structure
  • Form with name, email and contract/order reference
  • Confirmation step before final submission
  • Email confirmation to the customer
  • Internal notification to the operator or support
  • Logging with timestamp and content of the declaration

What is often problematic with TYPO3

TYPO3 projects have often grown over the years. That's exactly why we check the technical architecture first.

  • Contract conclusion runs via a custom extension
  • Forms are not linked to orders or contracts
  • Multilingual setup and site configuration are complex
  • Email templates are in Fluid or external systems
  • ERP, CRM or payment providers are connected
  • Logging and data protection must be separated cleanly at a technical level

When should your TYPO3 website be checked?

If these points apply, we shouldn't estimate the technical implementation, but check it concretely first.

If these points apply: check TYPO3 technically and retrofit cleanly.

We check the TYPO3 version, templates, extensions, form logic, mail sending, order reference and logging. You then receive a clear quote with effort and implementation path.

1. Sales or contracts with consumers

Consumers can conclude contracts for products, services, courses, memberships or other offerings via the TYPO3 website.

2. Online user interface

The contract is created via a form, checkout, booking process, customer area or a custom TYPO3 extension.

3. Right of withdrawal applies

A statutory right of withdrawal applies to at least some of your offerings.

4. Custom technology

TYPO3 is connected to custom code, Extbase/Fluid, forms, multisite or external systems.

Technical implementation focused on extension, Fluid, routing and mail sending.

We don't treat TYPO3 like a standard shop. We first look at how contracts are created technically, and then implement the withdrawal function in the right place.

Check the ordering process

We check where the contract is created technically: form, extension, checkout, booking or customer area.

Frontend integration

We place the button visibly and sensibly in the footer, customer area or ordering environment.

TYPO3 route / form

We build our own withdrawal page or route with clean validation and a confirmation step.

Mail templates

Customer and operator receive suitable notifications, matched to your TYPO3 mail structure.

Logging

The process is documented traceably with timestamp, content and contract reference.

Function test

We test desktop, mobile, form, mail sending, multilingual setup and internal processing.

How the TYPO3 implementation works.

With TYPO3, we only decide after a technical check whether a fixed price is possible or whether we work cleanly by effort.

We decide whether the function will be implemented via a form, extension, route, middleware or existing ordering logic.

TYPO3 withdrawal button from €690 net.

For simple TYPO3 ordering processes, a fixed price from €690 net is possible. For custom extensions, multisite, multilingual setups or connected systems, we work transparently by effort.

When do we charge by effort?

With TYPO3, special cases are the rule rather than the exception. Our hourly rate is €85 net.

  • Custom extensions with their own contract logic
  • Multilingual or multisite installations
  • External ERP/CRM/payment connections
  • Custom forms or booking processes
  • Old TYPO3 versions or technical legacy issues

Clear decision: with TYPO3 we don't start blind. We check first and then clearly state the effort, risk and price range.

Why TYPO3 doesn't need a copy-and-paste solution.

A mere link in the footer seems quickly done, but doesn't solve the technical process. TYPO3 needs a solution that fits the real contract logic.

❌ Quick stopgap

  • Button only as a normal link in the footer
  • No real confirmation function
  • No reference to the order or contract
  • Mail sending not properly tested
  • No logging or internal traceability
  • Risk with updates, multilingual setups and custom code

✓ Clean technical implementation

  • Button visible and logically placed
  • Structured withdrawal flow
  • Customer confirmation and internal notification
  • Logging with technical proof
  • Integration into the TYPO3 structure instead of a theme hack
  • Short handover after a successful test

The most important questions, answered briefly.

The answers are deliberately technical. For individual legal questions about your TYPO3 website, your legal adviser or your legal texts provider is responsible.

All questions and answers
Does this affect TYPO3 in general or only online contracts?

TYPO3 alone does not trigger the obligation. It becomes relevant when consumers can conclude contracts online via the TYPO3 website and a right of withdrawal applies.

Is a link to the withdrawal policy enough?

No. Technically, it's about an electronic withdrawal function with a declaration, confirmation step, acknowledgement of receipt and traceable processing.

Can we solve this as a TYPO3 form?

Partly, yes. What matters is that the form, confirmation step, mail sending and logging work together cleanly and the contract reference is preserved.

What about multiple languages or multisite?

Multilingual setups and multisite are possible, but increase the effort. We check the site configuration, language handling and output points in advance.

Do we need access to the server?

Yes, for a clean TYPO3 implementation we usually need backend access, FTP/SSH or deployment access, as well as information on the extension structure used.

Is the implementation legally reviewed?

Technically, we implement everything according to the current state of the art. Reviewing your withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy is not part of the offer.

Are there ongoing costs?

No, the implementation is project-based. Later TYPO3 updates, extension changes or new languages are charged separately by effort.

We'll implement the withdrawal button cleanly in TYPO3 now.

From €690 net for simple TYPO3 ordering processes. Custom TYPO3 systems transparently by effort at €85 net per hour. Technically clean, thoroughly tested and with a handover.

Note: we take care of the technical implementation. This page is not a substitute for legal advice. Please have your withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy checked or updated by your legal texts provider or your legal adviser.
