Withdrawal button for WooCommerce: implement it cleanly now.

Online shops with consumer customers need an electronic withdrawal function. For this, we build an update-proof WooCommerce solution as a plugin: button, withdrawal flow, email confirmation, logging and technical function test.

How it works in the shop

The process from your customers' point of view

  1. Button in the customer accountClearly visible with the order
  2. Withdrawal in two clicksOrder and items pre-filled
  3. Immediate confirmationWith date and time
  4. Email to customer and shopAcknowledgement of receipt included

Our focus: technical implementation. Legal texts such as the withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy must be maintained by your legal adviser or your legal texts provider.

Status: obligation in force

The deadline of 19 June 2026 has been reached. What counts now is a working technical solution.

Law: § 356a BGB (German Civil Code)

Electronic withdrawal function for distance contracts concluded online.

Price: €390 net

Fixed price for standard WooCommerce shops, no subscription and no hidden follow-up costs.

Special cases: €85/h net

Custom checkout, multilingual setup, multisite or special logic charged by effort.

The withdrawal button is not a decorative element. It is a complete process.

Many shops are currently thinking of a simple footer link. That's exactly what is too little. What's needed is a technical withdrawal function that guides the customer through the withdrawal, transmits the declaration and triggers a confirmation.

What your shop has to provide

The implementation must be easy for customers to find, work without unnecessary hurdles and document the withdrawal properly.

  • Clearly visible button, e.g. “Withdraw from contract”
  • Withdrawal form with name, email and contract/order reference
  • Second confirmation function, e.g. “Confirm withdrawal”
  • Automatic acknowledgement of receipt by email
  • Internal logging with timestamp and content of the declaration
  • Works for customer accounts and guest orders

What we deliberately don't promise

We don't sell legal advice, but a clean technical WooCommerce implementation. This protects us and your customers from false expectations.

  • We don't replace a lawyer's review of your withdrawal policy.
  • We don't change terms and conditions or privacy policies without suitable instructions.
  • We don't claim across the board that every shop is fully legally protected.
  • We make sure the technical function is built in, tested and documented in a traceable way.

Is your WooCommerce shop affected?

The quick check is not a substitute for legal advice, but helps with the initial technical assessment for typical WooCommerce shops.

1. Do you sell online to private customers?

2. Are there products with a right of withdrawal in the shop?

3. Is the contract concluded via the website?

4. Does the shop run on WooCommerce?

Very likely: technical action required.

If you sell to consumers, the contract is concluded online and a right of withdrawal applies, your shop should have an electronic withdrawal function. For WooCommerce we implement the standard package at a fixed price of €390 net.

Probably not affected in the standard package.

With pure B2B, pure enquiry forms or a reliably excluded right of withdrawal, the obligation may need to be assessed differently. We briefly check the technical situation and tell you clearly whether an implementation makes sense.

A small plugin. A clear process. No tinkering in the theme.

We don't solve this with a shaky HTML link, but update-proof as a WooCommerce-native plugin implementation. This keeps the function maintainable in a traceable way, even with theme updates.

Button visible site-wide

A clearly labelled withdrawal button is integrated in a sensible place, typically the footer or service area, easy to read and usable on mobile.

Withdrawal page

The customer lands on a separate page with structured input for name, email, order number and declaration of withdrawal.

Confirmation step

Before submission, the declaration is summarised once more. The customer then gives final confirmation of the withdrawal.

Email automation

The customer receives an acknowledgement of receipt. At the same time, the shop operator receives the withdrawal information for further processing.

Logging

The process is recorded internally in a traceable way, including timestamp, order reference and content of the submitted declaration.

Test & handover

We test the complete process technically and provide a short handover, so that it is clear later what was implemented.

How we bring the shop up to date quickly.

The process is deliberately lean: check, build in, test, document. For standard WooCommerce shops we do this as a fixed-price job.

Short shop check

We check WooCommerce, theme, footer/menu structure, order emails and the most sensible integration point.

  • WooCommerce
  • Theme

Plugin implementation

We set up the technical withdrawal function as an update-proof solution and avoid direct theme tinkering.

  • Plugin
  • Shortcode
  • Footer/button

Withdrawal flow

We build the form, summary, confirmation button and success message so that customers can complete the process cleanly.

  • Form
  • Confirmation
  • Thank-you page

Email & log

We configure the acknowledgement of receipt and internal notification, then test delivery and data storage.

  • Customer mail
  • Shop mail
  • Log

Final test & handover

We test desktop, mobile, form validation and email triggering. You then receive a short technical summary.

WooCommerce withdrawal button for €390 net.

One-off technical implementation for standard WooCommerce shops. No ongoing contract, no maintenance subscription, no payment in advance.

  • Complete package standard shop
  • €390 net
  • One-off fixed price · payment after implementation · incl. technical function test
  • Short technical shop check
  • Plugin-based WooCommerce implementation
  • “Withdraw from contract” button in a sensible place
  • Withdrawal form with confirmation step
  • Automatic email confirmation
  • Internal notification and logging
  • Desktop/mobile test and short handover

When is it not a standard case?

For heavily customised shops, we calculate fairly by effort. Our hourly rate is €85 net.

  • Multilingual shops with WPML/Polylang
  • Multisite, multivendor or marketplace logic
  • Headless/custom checkout
  • Special cases with external ERP/CRM
  • Additional design or individual legal requirements

Clear decision: we don't start blind. If your shop is not a standard case, we state the effort clearly in advance and implement nothing without approval.

Why we recommend this as an additional job now.

For shop operators, the topic is unpleasant but concrete. That's exactly why a clear technical implementation at a fixed price is better than last-minute tinkering.

❌ Waiting

  • Customers can't find a clear online withdrawal option
  • No confirmation step, no automatic acknowledgement of receipt
  • Unclear evidence for submitted withdrawals
  • Legal texts and technical implementation drift apart
  • Hectic implementation under pressure later

✓ Solve it cleanly now

  • The technical process is visibly in place
  • Customers can submit withdrawals in a structured way
  • Shop operator receives automatic notification
  • The process is documented traceably
  • Maintainable solution instead of a theme hack

The most important questions, answered briefly.

The answers are deliberately technical. For individual legal questions, your legal texts provider or lawyers should be involved.

All questions and answers
Does this only affect subscriptions or normal online shops too?

The withdrawal button is not the same as the cancellation button. It typically affects distance contracts with consumers when these are concluded via an online user interface and a right of withdrawal applies. This can also affect normal WooCommerce shops.

Is an email address in the legal notice enough?

No, as a technical solution that is too weak. What is required is an electronic withdrawal function with clear access, a structured declaration, a confirmation step and an immediate acknowledgement of receipt.

Does the customer have to be logged in?

Withdrawal should not be made unnecessarily difficult. That's why we build the process so that guest customers can also submit a declaration of withdrawal with an order reference.

Is the implementation legally reviewed?

We implement the technical function according to the current state of the art and the typical requirements. The legal review of your withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy is not part of the fixed price and should be carried out by your legal texts provider or lawyer.

What do we need from you?

We need WordPress admin access, ideally hosting/FTP access, SMTP/mail information if available, and a short note on which email address should receive withdrawals internally.

How long does the implementation take?

For a standard WooCommerce shop, the technical implementation is usually done at short notice. With special logic, multilingual setups or a heavily customised checkout, we first check the effort and give you a clear quote in advance.

Is a maintenance contract necessary afterwards?

No. The package is a one-off technical implementation. Regular shop maintenance still makes sense, but is not compulsory and not part of this fixed-price offer.

We'll implement the withdrawal button cleanly in WooCommerce now.

Fixed price €390 net for standard WooCommerce shops. Special cases transparently by effort at €85 net per hour. Fast, clean, update-proof and with a short technical handover.

Note: we take care of the technical implementation. This page is not a substitute for legal advice. Please have your withdrawal policy, terms and conditions and privacy policy checked or updated by your legal texts provider or your legal adviser.
